Caragan Music Agency - The results of the Norwegian jury!

We sent three demo tracks to Caragan for their opinion. This is what they said

Track 1 - Half Empty Glass

Energetic performance and vocal - strangely reminiscent of The Libertines.10 points for actually having an ending.

Track 2 - Crazy People Laugh

Performance of this song gets stronger as the song progresses. A catchy chorus. Good feel to the track. Good lyric idea

Track 3 - Over You

Nice vocal of a pleasant and melodic song with a good arrangement. Like the fact it holds back right through to the end. The third real song ending - well done!

The standard of this CD is pretty good and you are to be congratulated on three decent songs and a good standard of performance. It seems that you are a band of seasoned players of many years experience. Which is precisely why the standards are relatively high all round.

There is no substitute for gigging as much as possible and building a following. Once in a while (The Darkness, were an example) a band is making so much noise that the record companies simply have to take notice. If you are a great live act and have the collective energy and determination who knows what could be possible?

It will not be easy but keep going!

Well done so far and look forward to hearing the evidence of how you progress!

Ditchambury
Saturday 9th July 2005

Hi Tony
Just wanted to say big thank you to you and the rest of the Last Word. You were fantastic and many of the guests commented on how good you were. You certainly helped make Ditchambury a great success - one of our most successful events in recent years.
Thank you too for helping out the school bands - the pupils were apparently raving about your band in school next day.
Thank you to you all again - we will be recommending you to all and you never know we may hold another Ditchambury next year so we can ask you back!
Regards
Lisa

13th May - Catapult Club

I have seen The Last Word several times now, and they just get better and better, never failing to entertain. From the opening chord of the power pop 'Christine' to the closing classic rock 'n' roll ending of 'Waiting For Your Green Light' the 'boys' had the small but enthusiastic crowd on their feet. A thumping set peppered with gems like 'What's Going On With Me' and the sublime 'I Can't Make You Cry'. A great example of The Last Word doing what they do best. A mighty fine gig, made of even better by the excellent headliners Heymaker who closed the evening with a powerful set of Gallagher influenced songs.

Sutton's Best Band Contest
Saturday 24th February 2007

Good gig, well staged. Thanks to Gary and Dave from Rock Stock.

Sadly, we didn't win but we seemed to entertain the faithful crowd and local hack.....

"Stones-ey, Fleetwood Mac-ey, a brilliant Saturday night band that showed how to command a stage. Sing-a-long choruses, hand-claps, manic singer, professorial bassist, leather strides, trilbies, they had the lot."

Paul Fleckney - Sutton Guardian

Well done to the over 18's winners Creeper and the overall winners Xenon!
